An exceptional pair of late Georgian hand-blown colorless glass decanters exuberantly cut in a complex honeycomb pattern with panel-cut neck, cut neck ring, star-cut base and original cut stoppers. The optical illusion the honeycomb cutting makes is just extraordinary. The light reflection is stunning!

This handsome pair stand a stately 13 1/2" high and measure 4 1/2" in diameter across the base. They weigh a very substantial three and a half pounds each! Both are in very, very good condition. One decanter has a tiny fleabite on the base edge and both have some very minor base edge roughness all of which I would consider expected wear and mention only for the sake of accuracy. There are no other chips, cracks or regrinds and there is no cloudiness. The glass has a wonderful clarity and brilliance. The cutting is deep and crisp. The original stoppers ring into each decanter individually and properly.

Truly a fine and pleasing pair! The quality of the glass and cutting would suggest they are from one of the premiere English glass houses, possibly Richardson.
