A charming, late 19th century miniature brass fender with hand-cut top measuring 1 1/2" high by 6" long by 2 3/8" deep. This piece is in very good, undamaged condition. There are no dents or dings or deep scratches. It has quite a nice weight to it and that wonderful warm patina of early brass.
These miniatures were usually made by apprentices to show off their skills to the master smithy. Most made their way into the elaborate doll houses enjoyed by so many little Victorian girls.
The miniature brass kettle and miniature brass fireplace tools pictured with this fender are also available in our shop.
