A pair of Victorian bracelets, engagement and wedding set, rolled gold.
In the Victorian Era, when a fellow proposed, he gave his beloved a bangle and she got to keep it whatever her answer. If she said yes, he gave her a matching one at the wedding.
It is VERY rare to find a complete set, both bracelets, the engagement bracelet and the wedding bracelet. These antique bangles are simply gorgeous! Very heavy gold fill, and rose gold rolled gold, highest quality, they look like solid gold.
High gloss finish, they gleam with that rosy pink, golden sheen. They are etched with initials, one has M.A. and the other is E.A. They also have a makers mark of MMR. Hinged with push button clasps in excellent condition, they work well.
The bangles are in superior condition. I see no issues, there may be some light surface marks, but difficult to see without a loupe. And here is the best news, they are not tiny! I have a 6 ¼" wrist and I can wear them with room to spare. They are each a tad over ¼" wide and 2 & 3/16" by 1 & 7/8" across the inside.
Extremely handsome on the wrist, utterly wonderful!
