American coin silver olive spoon having a gilt, fluted bowl and a long, twist handle in the Jenny Lind pattern by Albert Coles of New York City, c.1850.
This early ornate serving spoon is unmarked, but guaranteed to be as represented.
The finish on the gilding is excellent, in spite of the shadows in the pictures.
Weighing 25 grams, this elegant, scarce olive spoon is 8 1/4" in length and inscribed, on the front of the handle in period script: Jennie.
Inscribed as described above, the soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing.
The excellent original condition and clear detail, with no removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering
