Late 18th century English sterling silver sugar tongs, decorated with bright cut engraved patterns and monogrammed "SD" on the top. Made by Thomas Northcote, London, 1792.
These beautiful George III era tongs are 5 1/2" long and weigh 33.7 grams or 1 ozt.
The soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing.
The excellent original condition and clear, crisp detail, with no removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering.
