Late 18th century French provincial 950 sterling silver sugar sifter with a beautifully pierced bowl, featuring floral patterns. On the front of the handle, there is an engraved Horse Head crest over the monogram "O". Sifter has open right hand mark and double struck mark of crowned "J⋅L" initials over fleur-de-lis symbol. Made in Macon province Dijon, c. 1785-1795.
This presentable rare piece is 8 3/8" long and weighs 83 grams or 2.6 ozs Troy.
The soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing.
