My mystery piece purchased from a collector in Phoenix. A wonderful chromolithograph of a beautiful child with what has always been representative of the Swiss mountain rescue dogs . ( St Bernard ) My first impression of the work lead me to believe that the original must have been by Sir John Everett Millais however I can not find that image in research of his work. Stunning and Just beautiful piece and a mystery to me as to how it was assembled. At first I did not take the back off but did so later because I thought I could figure out how the print was put under class and mounted in this old frame ? Still don't know. There are frame conditions and photos show these issues which are typical of an antique Gesso Gilt frame. A wonderful image and with outstanding strong color which is typical of this antique process. Latest research indicates that this work was probably created by the German artist Eerelman. Overall 13 1/2 X 12 1/2 inches...Glass size 10 1/2 x 11 1/2 inches
