One of the great fixtures made by Lightolier during the height of the Art Deco era also during the depths of the Great Depression. Simple and famous "Bundt cake" shaped custard glass shade on original 2 bulb cast iron ceiling ring. 60 watts max on each socket. The custard glass shade has an iridized and pearlized finish and the great Art Deco designs speak for themselves. Colors are still vivid and vibrant with no noticeable loss of color or intensity. Cast iron mounting ring has been restored to it's color of antique golden and the detailing on the ring is still crisp and it adds elegance to the fixture. Mounting button in the middle of the shade is also it's original. Only 4 1/2 inch drop including mounting button. Overall width is 13 5/8 inches with the glass shade 12 inches across. No noticeable chips and no cracks in this fabulous ceiling fixture glass shade. Signed "Lightolier" on under side of shade.
Another example why it is critical to see the fixture lit. The colors will look faded when back lit if they have lost their intensity, not captured when bulbs are not on.
NOTE: Custom fabricated heat shield installed between fixture and ceiling because light bulbs are so close to the ceiling they present a fire danger if left un-shielded.
