American Folk Art Trompe L'Oeil Dollhouse....One-Of-A-Kind !
I love the TROMPE L'OEIL WINDOWS and it's FABULOUS LARGE SIZE!
I bought this wonderful AMERICAN FOLK ART dollhouse about 16 + years ago from fellow dealer, Moira Hatton. It has been in my upstairs center hallway for all those years. I have enjoyed admiring it every day. This is the first time I am offering it for sale. I am moving to Mexico and therefore offering it for sale. Your good fortune!
Moira told me this wonderful house came from Stafford Springs, CT. Right from the property she later bought for herself! It had belonged to M. and M. Taylor, and came out of a 200 year old Carpenter Shop from town that they had moved to the property.
It remains "as found" and without restoration. You would be able to choose the manner and materials that you like for the restoration.
Because of it's large size, it would take dolls and furnishings that are larger than the 1" to the foot. That always appealed to me. I wanted to have fun furnishing it with LARGER DOLLS AND FURNITURE.
Size: It stands 5 feet 2 or 3" tall to the peak. The chimneys make it 5 feet 5" tall. It is 21" wide.
Price: I am offering this great dollhouse for the same price I paid for it. Long layaway is a possibility. What terms do you need?
Shipping: I recently shipped a bed via Greyhound bus. It was reasonable ($139). That may be a possibility.
Perhaps you are like me and love PRIMITIVES and FOLK ART and DOLLHOUSES. This house has it all! A great ONE-OF-A-KIND PIECE!
