A charming POUTY wax over composition with fabulous sock treatment (I have never before seen socks applied like this).

Circa 1860-1870, this doll is in WONDERFUL ORIGINAL CONDITION. She has a wax over composition shoulder head, a cloth body, and composition lower arms and legs. The legs end in molded and painted black heeled boots with lavender decoration. The doll has blue GLASS EYES and a CLOSED POUTY MOUTH. She has her ORIGINAL, BLONDE MOHAIR WIG.

The doll wears her ORIGINAL underclothing. It consists of a chemise, petticoat and drawers....all with MATCHING TRIM. She wears her ORIGINAL BLOUSE with MOTHER OF PEARL buttons. Her overskirt is a replacement, however, the pattern chosen has the look of an original skirt that would have been used on a doll of this type and age.

Her socks are actual striped red cotton socks from the period. At the top of the boot, there is gold paper trim. The red striped socks are positioned above the trim. Very cool and unusual!

Size: 14"

Condition: Overall excellent with very minor age imperfections.

I just love this doll due to her ORIGINALITY, TURNED HEAD, POUTY EXPRESSION and FABULOUS SOCK TREATMENT. Reasonably priced for such a lovely example.
