French musical automaton "Little Girl with basket of flowers" by Leopold Lambert, came from estate of Huguette Clark
18" (46 cm.) Standing upon a velvet covered base is a closed mouth Jumeau bisque head doll with original rare brown glass paperweight eyes, lushly painted lashes, brushstroked brows, closed mouth with outlined lips, pierced ears, original blonde mohair wig over cork pate, original Jumeau earrings, carton torso and legs, bisque lower arms. When wound, music plays, and she nods her head, then turns head side to side, while alternately lifting her right arm and then extending her right hand which is holding a basket of flowers. The doll is marked Depose Tete Jumeau Bte SGDG 4. Excellent condition, chip at upper edge of left arm (under sleeve), bisque head excellent with no chips cracks or repairs, music and mechanism function well. Leopold Lambert, circa 1890, doll wears original Jumeau chemise dress and lace petticoat.
Small size 4 Jumeau will adore any French Doll collection.
