Carlos Lopez Ruiz, 1912-1972, was a Colombian artist and political cartoonist who moved to the U.S. and settled in California. This painting, 10 1/2" X 12 1/2", ink and acrylic on paper, on cardboard, is mounted on black, blue and brown painted burlap, 14" X 18". It shows 3 Colombian boys, kneeling on the ground, playing marbles. It is signed, lower right, "Carlos Lopez-Ruiz. The surface has a few chips, lower right, and top right, but the paint is fresh and bright.
