This light weight vase has the buff terra cota finish at the base, and interior of the pot. The rim, and top 2 1/4" shoulder, are black. Each side is decorated with an inscribed image of a seated Mayan man holding a ball shaped object in his outstretched hands. Brown, red, green, orange, and blue, are used on the smooth surfaces, the background buff has a textured pattern. The vase is 10" tall, and up to 6 1/4" across. It has a few spots where the cold paint has chipped off. We think this piece was made in Mexico, but because there are no marks, we really don't know. If it is Mexican, it is the first one, of this style, we have seen.
