Beautiful glowing Mucha copper foil Lithograph. In Lorenzaccio, a play by Alfred de Musset, Sanrah Bernhardtplayed the male hero, Lorenzo de' Medici, at the the time of the siege ofFlorence the tyrant Duke Alexander, who is symbolically treated in the posteras a snarling dragon, menacing the Medici coat of arms. Lorenzo contemplates the murder of Alexander, symbolized by the dagger piercing the tyrant, shown in the panel at the foot of the poster. Sarah Bernhardt was Mucha's "Fairy Godmother," he became famous overnight because of the revolutionary posters he designed for her, beginning with Gismonda, framed in mahogany.
