Highly unusual & original French graniteware sugar (Sucre) pot, manufactured by the once well-known “décorateur” A. Guillaud from Lyon, France. This canister oozes design flair with its heavily white enameled base decorated by hand-painted turquoise blue and school-bus yellow geometric patterns in relief and fancy brown lettering and detailing. The lid is also hand-painted with turquoise detailing. This is a one-off , unique design.
This canister, which dates from the early 1900s, is in excellent condition. The bottom right has a manufacturing defect, that may look like a paint repair on the photos – but it’s not. The underside is hand-signed.
Measurements: 7½" tall including lid with a diameter of 5"
Note I have two additional canisters from this set, Café (coffee) and Thé (tea) also available. Please feel free to contact me for details and additional photos.
