Here is a very attractive Salt Box from circa 1920s-30s. This salt keep is heavily enameled in white with wide turquoise blue bands and trims decorating the contoured body. The work “SEL” (salt) is written in turquoise block lettering on a central raised panel. Finer gold detailing adds a refined touch to the décor. The lid moves freely up and down.
The interior has some minor surface rust and slight discoloration, but all in all remains nicely intact, considering the corrosive nature of salt.
This wall hanging box measures 9¾ʺ high and 6½ʺ x 4ʺ wide.
