This French salt keep from the early 1900s, features unusual angled, flat facetted sides. Heavily enameled in white, the container is decorated by gold trims and fancy lettering which reads “SEL” (salt).
As shown on the photos, there are some spots of enamel loss as can be expected with an antique piece such as this, but nothing very shocking. The interior remains nicely intact, which is not often the case with these old salt keeps, due to the corrosive nature of salt.
The salt box measures 11" tall and 6½" x 5" wide to the edge of the hinged lid.
