Favoring angular lines, this striking brass jardiniere dates from the 1920s-1930s. Its fabulous aesthetics is characteristic of the Art Deco period, with geometric sides handles and large stylized flowers as central motifs. It comes with its original, removable clear glass insert with is enhanced by a thin etched decorative band towards to top.
Despite age, the jardiniere remains in great condition, with no breakage whatsoever. Its golden patina has not been cleaned to keep the appealing hue it has earned with the years, and which gives the piece a wonderful vintage feel. The insert has a few tiny nicks along the trim, but they are quite hard to detect. It shows as well some minor surface scratching at the bottom, once again very superficial.
Left as this or polished, the piece has enormous decorative potential. Used as a jardinière, a center-piece or a catch-all, it is the perfect thing to add a magnificent Art Deco touch to your home.
The jardiniere is 15½" long with the side handles, 6" wide and 5¾" at its highest.
The glass insert is 11⅝" long, 5" wide, and from 3¼" to 4½" deep.
The ensemble weighs 4.62lbs (2.10 kg).
