Nothing small about the proportions of this lovely vintage French drip coffee pot!
Quite impressive, it measures 14” high, 10½” from the handle to the spout and just under 5⅝” in diameter at the bottom. This type of biggin, which has an extended filter portion with handle, is known as a “Parisienne” (Parisian Biggin), and was often used in French “cafés” and canteens.
This 4-piece biggin is enameled in white and decorated by light blue bands and finer gold bands and detailing. It comes with just minor wear and signs of usage, mostly confined to the trims and the edges, including a bend on the rim of the filter. Otherwise the ensemble remains solidly intact and watertight.
With its large size and pleasant design, this is a superb piece to display for an instant French vintage effect in any kitchen décor!
