Lucky penny ring! This ring made me smile when I saw it. Apparently someone in Afghanistan came across an American penny and made it into a ring as a personal treasure! This is a vintage Afghan Kuchi ring with heavy aged patina. The metal band is accented with a pattern. Great ethnic piece! This is a unisex ring and can be worn by a man or a woman.
Please keep in mind that most Kuchi and Turkoman / Turkmen / Turkomen items are old and used items with a distinct aged patina. They are a nomadic Afghan people who have created amazing jewelry for centuries. Their colorful jewelry combines new, old, metal, beads, coins, stones and fabric. Many pieces are worn due to being used from every day wear, tribal celebrations, belly dance and wedding uses. They are made with a coin-base metal alloy.
Size: 8 1/4 Condition: Vintage condition, heavy patina Weight: 7.1 grams Measurements: .73" or 18.57 mm ring face
Please examine enlarged photos for details. This is much more beautiful in real life! I am not an expert on vintage jewelry, but I do buy and sell what I love! Since these items are vintage, they may have a wonderful aged patina and are not meant or expected to look brand new. I treasure their imperfections as part of their charm and history.
