Bohemian gypsy statement necklace! It is a vintage ethnic, Afghan tribal necklace. Done in the traditional Hazara style, the necklace features several vintage coins bearing arabic writing. They have a lion with a sword. The coins are accented by silver bow shaped links that are set with red jewels and little silver balls.
There is a large statement center pendant with a coin and multiple charms dangling down. Red and green cut glass insets add a bit of color. The necklace has it's original, heavy aged patina.
This is one of several vintage necklaces in this style I was able to get my hands on, so check out the others too!
Please keep in mind that most Kuchi and Turkoman / Turkmen / Turkomen items are old and used items with a distinct aged patina. They are a nomadic Afghan people who have created amazing jewelry for centuries. Their colorful jewelry combines new, old, metal, beads, coins, stones and fabric. Many pieces are worn due to being used from every day wear, tribal celebrations, belly dance and wedding uses. They are made with a coin-base metal alloy.

I am not an expert on vintage jewelry, but I do buy and sell what I love! Since these items are vintage, they may have a wonderful aged patina and are not meant or expected to look brand new. I treasure their imperfections as part of their charm and history.
