***Please note that the photos do not do this piece justice! I had a hard time capturing the glow!***

This is a vintage pendant that features a huge labradorite stone! This is sterling silver pendant. The stone is a large oval shape. It has color flashes in fabulous rainbows of blue, purple and golds shades. It is set into a sterling bezel. The bezel is simple and wide to set of the gorgeous stone. Amazing piece that is ready to slip onto your necklace!

I adore the color flashes of the labradorite stone. I am always very careful when hand selecting them so that I bring you the best rainbow shades I can find!

I lightly polish my vintage silver as some people like the aged patina. If you want me to polish it before shipping, just let me know! I am not an expert on vintage jewelry, but I do buy and sell what I love! Since these items are vintage, they may have a wonderful aged patina and are not meant or expected to look brand new. I treasure their imperfections as part of their charm and history.

Labradorite Properties: From the Feldspar family. It features labradorescence which is a play of colors. The stones base color comes in shade of gray with black, green and white undertones. It has aggregate layers that refract light as iridescent flashes. Blue is the predominant color with flashes coming in colors of gold, green, peacock blue and copper.

History: Discovered on the Labrador Peninsula in Canada by Moravian missionaries in 1770. It was named after the area. Also found in Norway and Russia. However it was referenced in legends by older Inuit tribes, It was also known to be in use by the Red Paint people of Maine for over a thousand years. In Europe it became popular for use in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Healing Properties: Some believe that it is a power stone helping you to determine your dreams and goals and see through illusions. It is used for strengthening intuitions, stimulating imagination, develop enthusiasm and new ideas and to see more clearly in meditation.
