This lot of buttons came to us in an estate sale and it consists of a card containing 7 white buttons which appear to be made of some kind of composite material, although we do not think they are Bakelite. There are 4 matched buttons in an unusual hexagonal form which are drilled through on the underside to allow them to be sewn onto a garment. They were drilled through parallel to their ends and drilled part way through in a wider cut with the center area cut narrower-an unusual set. They measure 7/8" along the outer edge and 1/2" wide. The center button has a center 2-hole opening to allow sewing and appears to be a diamond shape. It is molded to have the appearance of two parallel domed rods. The large round buttons on either end of the card measure 1 3/4" in diameter and are probably coat buttons. They have a sort of asymmetrical swirl pattern in relief on the top with a 2-hole through which to sew. Again, I'm not sure what the material is on any of these, but they are interesting, useful and different. We are not any kind of button experts or collectors although we're trying to learn something about them. We try to price based on our cost and the button's decorative appeal. I hope you get a great bargain! Thanks for looking and be sure to check out our other listings of buttons.
