This listing is for a single vintage beaded wire yellow flower made with tiny seed beads in a transparent bright yellow and with green leaves made the same way. It measures 5" tall by about 2" across. The piece is made with wrapping on its stem which probably needs a bit of floral tape to dress it properly and cover the wires. Flowers like these have been made since medieval times. I discovered in my research that the craft is believed to have begun then in Venice, Italy where the glassmakers of Murano created an abundance of tiny beads along with all their other fabulous goblets, vases, etc. Craftswomen in Venice made beautiful flowers and leaves of the beads threaded on fine wire and they were used in the winter months when fresh flowers for the church or for the homes of the wealthy Venetians were unavailable. You can easily see why this craft has continued on to the 21st century. We are listing a number of these small beaded flower creations which can be used as decorations for clothing, hats, purses, even to fill a small bud vase, etc. Since we bought them well, we are pricing them very reasonably. Condition on this spray is very good used, although it could use a bit of re-wrap on the bottom part of the stems. Otherwise, perfect!
