Lioness Head Motif earclips, Vintage

These beautiful clip earrings feature the head of a lioness in a soft golden finish of metal. We think they are Egyptian in style, although they could be South American panther heads? Each earring measures 1" wide at the ears and 9/16th" wider at the bottom of the face and 7/8" from top to bottom. They are wonderfully ancient and modern in their imagery--truly timeless! As you can see from the last two photos, each one is marked with the letters "MMA" which stands for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. They are in excellent used condition with no damage and the earclips are fully functional and ready to wear.
