This divine vintage hat is the absolute picture of '40s glamour.
Made of luxurious black beaver fur, this hat is a classic and demure dome-shape.
A bold black bow adorns the front of the hat and is accented with a sparkling rhinestone-encrusted buckle.
The inner-band is lined with a narrow ribbon black grosgrain while the interior of the hat remains unlined. A small size tag sewn to the grosgrain ribbon reads "Medium".
You will find the original manufacturer's mark imprinted on the underside of the crown. It reads "Union Made, UHC & MWIU, Peachbloom Velour, Merrimac Body, Made of Imported Fur".
During the latter part of the 19th century, the Massachusetts-based Merrimac Hat Company produced more hats than any other factory in the nation at the time.
Years later, the "Peachbloom Velour" became one of their most popular designs.
With almost no visible wear this sensational hat remains in outstanding vintage condition.
