Here is a beautiful antique brooch with a lot of dazzling details and classic Victorian style.
There are styles of this brooch that are considered kilt pins from the Edwardian to Victorian era.
The brooch is characterized by a wonderfully unique "swirling" motif.
As you can see, a straight bar boasting Royal-blue enamel and inlay sits at the center while hand-hammered metal swirls languidly around it.
The richly oxidized metal boasts a lustrous 9 karat gold-filled finish.
You will notice that the "swirls" are accented with stunning hand-hammered details which are pervaded by a distinctly Victorian floral motif.
While the brooch is characterized by classic, Victorian themes, it is certainly a unique and unusual piece.
There is a classic "C"-style brooch clasp on the reverse of the piece as well as a small loop near the top; this will give the buyer a lot of options as far as wearing and displaying the piece.
This would have been, no doubt, where a chain would be attached to hang a ladies watch.
You will notice that the brooch shows a fair amount of darkening as well as some minor flea-bite scratches, though it remains in good antique condition.
