Here is a gorgeous unsigned Boucher duette brooch with a dazzling array of glittering rhinestones.
You will notice that the silvertone duette-component on the reverse of the brooch features a mark which reads "U.S. Pat. 2034129". This patent number was registered by Marcel Boucher in 1936.
An accompanying stamped mark reads "Other Pat. Pend".
After a successful stint as designer for the Mazer Brothers, Marcel Boucher would go on to found his own jewelry company in 1937.
Boucher (pronounced boo-shay) pieces are typically very "high-end" and characterized by a unique yet elegant aesthetic.
This remarkable vintage piece consists of two mirror-image components that, when together, create a gorgeous brooch and, when apart, become two perfectly matched fur-clips.
A classic roll-over brooch clasp on the reverse of the conjoining component will allow you to wear and display your new piece with ease. Each side features a hinged clip which nests in the backing component to form a singular brooch.
The silver-tone brooch features delicate millegraining around the edges while a glittering array of pavé rhinestones pervades the surface.
Slightly larger, more uniquely cut rhinestones accent the sides and center of the piece.
While the brooch features all of its original rhinestones, some of the smaller round-cut ones exhibit some discoloration.
Despite this minor cosmetic wear and a few light surface scratches, the piece remains in good vintage condition overall.
This piece is a truly breathtaking example of Boucher's glamour-and-glitz style.
