Here is a beautiful Boucher vintage brooch in the highly-detailed and realistic shape of a brilliant-orange goldfish or a betta fish. This is a great size at over 2" tall.
After a successful stint as designer for the Mazer Brothers, Marcel Boucher would go on to found his own jewelry company in 1937.
Boucher (pronounced boo-shay) pieces are typically very "high end" and characterized by a unique yet elegant aesthetic. They are difficult to find and this brooch is exceptionally unique.
This little beauty has a very distinctive shape and features absolutely breathtaking orange enamel.
As you can see, the fish is rendered with a great deal of realism and boasts a lot of great little details.
A minuscule cross-hatched finish shines through the semi-transparent enamel on the goldfish's body and tail. This gives the piece a really fantastic texture and sense of dimension.
The fishy's scales, mouth and top and bottom fins boast a smooth gold-tone finish that complements the warm glow of the orange enamel beautifully.
Last but not least, a single colorless rhinestone accents the fish's eye.
A roll-over brooch clasp on the reverse will give you a number of options for easily displaying and wearing the brooch. This is where you will find the traditional "©Boucher" hallmark along with the style number "7007P".
The Boucher hallmark accompanied by the copyright symbol was used beginning in the mid 1950s.
You can see that this dazzling little brooch shows little to no wear and remains in absolutely outstanding vintage condition.
This is truly a fun and fashionable example of Boucher's unique and lasting contribution to the world of vintage jewelry.
