We are thrilled to offer this fantastic vintage Renoir demi-parure featuring a necklace and earrings with distinct mid-century Modernist style.
It has a very unique closing mechanism besides great style.
Since its founding in 1946 to the end of production in 1964, the Renoir Company produced some of the world's most elegant and unique jewelry.
By playing up a modern aesthetic and using only the finest copper, the Renoir name came to synonymous with contemporary glamour.
As you can see, the necklace is comprised of a wide "basket weave" chain which consists of an elegant combination of smooth and textural links.
The chain articulates beautifully while each end terminates with a highly-reflective copper square.
The necklace has joins in an unconventional but extremely stylish way.
After draping the wide chain around the neck, let one end overlap the other and secure it at your preferred length with the "buckle" component on the reverse.
This will allow you to determine the length of each side of the necklace.
The reverse of the copper squares that accent each end exhibit stamped marks on the reverse, both of which read "Renoir" in slanted script.
This is the earliest of the Renoir's hallmarks and was used at the time of company's inception, 1946, and for several years after.
Both earrings echo the design of the necklace perfectly; they are simple reflective squares with a glowing copper finish.
Classic hinge-clips on the reverse make them incredibly comfortable to wear.
You will find the same italicized "Renoir" mark on the back of each clip.
Though the necklace and earrings show some wear, particularly to the shiny copper square accents, the set remains in good vintage condition overall.
This set will make a real statement in your collection.
