This is a beautiful vintage Stetson fedora with rich color and fantastic details.
The hat is made from the highest-quality wool in a beautiful shade of chocolate brown.
A young American entrepreneur in the mid 1800s named John B. Stetson. By the 1860s, John B. was panning for gold in Colorado.
When he was trapped in the mountains and threatened by horrible weather, he needed to keep warm and dry.
He noticed how beavers' pelts repelled water in streams, so he trapped a few and created a thick fur felt that he used to make a tent, which kept him warm and dry.
His creativity created a legend, and by 1886, Stetson owned the world's biggest hat factory in Philadelphia and employed nearly 4,000 workers.
The factory was putting out about 2 million hats a year by 1906.
The hat has all the classic "fedora" details: a crease in the crown, an ever-so-slightly upturned brim and pinches on each side of the front.
A wide band of matching brown grosgrain wraps around the outer-band and terminates in a square bow on the right side.
This is accented with a small hackle of soft feathers in complementary shades of grayish-brown and red.
Inside, you will find a genuine leather sweatband, while the interior of the crown is lined with creamy off-white satin.
The Stetson logo and name are imprinted on the underside of the crown and protected by a clear sheet of vinyl.
There is a tag tucked into the sweatband that reads "Customized 7 5-8".
Finally, a monogram is embossed on the front of the sweatband and reads "ESS" in golden capitals.
There is a small dent in the leather sweatband, as well as a small tear.
Though it shows only the slightest amount of wear and age, this beautiful Stetson fedora remains in outstanding vintage condition.
This is such a hot look on women, but is also cool for a retro inspired man.
As ideal for display as it is for wear, we recommend the mad hatter make this beauty a part of their collection today.
