This fantastic vintage necklace's style lies somewhere between old-Hollywood and disco-fever. But one thing's for sure: it has some serious sparkle.
Dating from around the 1950s, this gorgeous necklace is a stunning example of the some of the era's bolder designs.
The piece features a HUGE rhinestone encrusted medallion which is suspended from two strands of articulated rhinestones.
The medallion is characterized by several graduated concentric circles of clear prong-set rhinestones with an enormous faceted chaton at the center.
The silver-toner metals make the perfect backdrop for the brilliantly clear stones.
As you can see, the necklace is rendered in a stylized lavalier-style: a short single strand of rhinestones holds the medallion while the two longer strands draw the eye downward.
This is a serious décolletage piece, ladies.
The necklace joins with a simple hook-clasp.
The hook can be attached to virtually any area of the opposite strand, making the length of the piece easily customizable.
While the necklace shows only the slightest amount of darkening and a few tiny flea-bite scratches here and there, it remains in excellent vintage condition overall.
