Illustrator Charles Gibson's "Gibson Girl" is often touted as the first national standard of beauty.
The character pervaded Gibson's pen-and-ink illustrations during the early 1900s, but became a prevalent subject for decorating commonplace merchandise.
Charles Gibson often said that he believed his creation represented "thousands of American girls".
This doll is truly a stunning beauty.

The doll has gorgeous rooted strawberry blonde hair that is arranged in a tasteful bun at the base of the head.
The doll is nestled in her original blue "Madame Alexander" box. The box features a label on the base that includes a portrait of the original Madame Alexander's face and reads "Gibson Girl 1244".
