This antique spoon is the right combination of cute and kitsch. It is made of 925 sterling silver and features a truly unique design.
As you can see, the spoon's handle reads "Wilmington D"; the handle boasts a combination of pierced and etched metalwork.
The inscription is further adorned with tiny etchings while the edges of the handle are engraved with swirling florals.
Between the bowl and engraved parts of the handle, the neck is completely twisted. This looks and feels really interesting.
The bowl of the spoon is relatively simple but features personal inscriptions on the inside and outside.
The name "Arrie" is engraved on the inside while the opposite side shows an inscription reading "Nov'6,'97".
A hallmark reading "Sterling" is stamped on the reverse of the handle.
Despite the fact that it dates from 1897, the spoon shows very little darkening and only a few tiny spots of wear. Overall, it remains in remarkable antique condition.
This little beauty would make a fun gift or addition to a much-loved souvenir spoon collection.
