Here is an exceptional six-piece vintage Heintz desk set with the beautiful and highly collectible "Verde" patina.
This set is an incredibly rare and spectacular example of the timeless craftsmanship and elegance of Heintz bronze.
The calendar holder is made of beautifully oxidized bronze and features most of the original "Verde" finish.
The front of the piece is decorated with a floral overlay in sterling silver.
As you can see, the calendar includes ALL of its original paper calendar cards.
You will find three cards which include every month of the year on both sides.
These come with 3 more paper cards which include a different starting day depending on the month and year.
One of these cards features a chart on the back detailing which month starts with which day for the years 1919 through 1926.
The calendar will be interchangeable and useable forever.
Though each card shows some minor wear and discoloration, they remain in fair vintage condition overall.
It is SO rare to find the original paper pieces with Heintz calendar accessories.
The reverse of the bronze calendar features the classic "HAMS" stamp (for Heintz Art Metal Studio) as well as marks reading ""Sterling on Bronze, Pat.Aug.27.12".
As you can see, the same mark is present on the underside of the base of the inkwell-stand along with the number "1144".
Numbers ranging from 1000 to 2000 always corresponds to Heintz desk sets and accessories.
The base and inkwell feature the same elegant Verde patina while the well-exterior boasts a beautiful floral sterling onlay.
You will find the original glass insert inside the inkwell. It includes a smaller bronze cap which also features the Verde finish.
Finally, four matching desk-calendar corners are included in the set and match the accompanying pieces to a tee. Each has a lovely, oxidized finish with a lovely sterling onlay.
The corners exhibit some light scratching and a deep patina on the sterling, though they remain in very good condition.
The base of the inkwell shows some minor spots and several minor scratches. There is also a fair degree of patination on the sterling onlay on the inkwell.
Despite some similar wear and oxidization on the calendar, this set remains in very good vintage condition.
Heintz pieces were produced for a relatively short time, but succeeded in embodying the very soul of the Arts and Crafts Movement.
We know you will agree.
