This is gorgeous vintage cut-glass scent bottle dates from 1931, and features a romantic and elaborate design on the sterling silver lid.
The bottle has a nice, substantial size and stout little body.
Pieces like this one add a perfect touch of sophistication and elegance when placed on a dressing table or in a powder room.
The lid is stamped with a graceful, feminine pattern of scrolling florals and bows at the center while the edges remain smooth.
There is a blank space at the center of the design ideal for engraving.
There is an even coat of gold-wash vermeil on the interior of the lid.
In addition to just being pretty, this vermeil prevents any excessive oxidization.
As you can see, the glass bottle is not pressed but has been meticulously hand-cut in a demure, but incredibly elegant pattern.
Amazingly, the bottle's original glass stopper is perfectly intact, but does have a few minor chips.
There are several hallmarks on the sterling collar, the first oh which is a capital "W" within a circle. This is a Dutch date mark corresponding to 1931. This is followed by "Sterling" and the style number "3162".
The lid shows some small dents and various area of rich oxidization.
Overall, this darling vintage scent bottle remains in good condition.
