Vintage Irice Signed Glass and Brass Scent Bottle - image 1 of 5

Here is a gorgeous vintage Irice scent bottle that just screams old world glamour.

The pressed glass bottle has a great look with a classic, elegant pattern. A pretty brass filigree top with a brilliant red rhinestone adds that extra bit of unique drama.

Irice was founded in the early 1920s by Irving W. Rice as an importer of various vanity items. In fact, "Irice" is an abbreviation of Rice's name.

Before World War II, the company brought in a great deal of Czechoslovakian crystal, but many of the "pressed glass" bottles like this little beauty were manufactured during the war.

You will find the name "Irice" cast into the glass on the underside of the bottle.

The threaded lid screws securely to the neck of the bottle and still has the perfectly intact original glass applicator wand.

Over the years, the filigreed brass lid has acquired a dark patina, giving it a rich, dramatic look.

A beautifully faceted red glass "gem" is set at the top of the lid and glimmers beautifully in the light. There is a small wire running through the center of the gem.

A small brass chain dangles from this wire. Originally, this chain would have been embellished with a small charm.

Despite the dark patina and some minor wear, this darling scent bottle remains in very good vintage condition.

Measurements:
2 5/8" tall (3 ½" w/ chain), Lid is 5/8" wide, Red "gem" is approx. ½" in diameter, Base of bottle is 13/16" long and 5/8" wide
Weight: 23.1 grams (0.81 oz)
