This darling vintage mirror was made specifically for sale in I. Magnin stores. It has great, feminine details and is just the right size for a wallet, clutch, or handbag.
As you can see, this little hand-mirror has a gold-tone brass frame and elegant pierced handle.
The mirror has a bit of magnification, so it's perfect for those tricky lip liner touch-ups.
The back of the mirror is decorated with a panel of luxurious satin which is covered with a colorful and realistic floral scene.
The image depicts gorgeous soft-pink roses and buds along with thorny stems and green leaves.
You will find the original sticker-label attached to the mirror itself which reads "Made for I. Magnin in Western Germany".
The mirror and surrounding brass metals show only one or two immaterial flea-bite scratches while the rose decoration shows the slightest amount of wear.
Overall, this lovely little hand-mirror remains in very good vintage condition.
Sadly, I. Magnin is long gone, but this treasure remains.
Their heydays were in the late 1930's to the 1940's. When famed designer Christian Dior paid a visit from Paris, he toured the Union Square (California) store, which had already earned the nickname "White Marble Palace", and said "Magnifique!"
The word would later be turned into a high compliment: "Magnifique."
If you are a collector of vanity items from the by-gone era of the grand department stores, this sweet mirror will be a great addition.
