Here's a cool old pair of dice from Laughlin's own Gold River Casino.
In the 1980s, a surge of casino construction exploded in Laughlin. Only 40 years prior, Laughlin had been home to a single hotel and bar. The establishment catered to the gold and silver miners who dotted the map.
The gorgeous vintage dice are made from heavy translucent plastic in a brilliant shade of red. The tradition of red dice originates in Ancient China, where dice games have been played for millennia. The Chinese have long considered red the luckiest of colors.
The colorless depressions on each side of the dice, or "pips", remain bright white and clean.
Both dice feature the Gold River's logo in shimmering gold letter along with their numbers ("467" and "694" respectively, in this case). Finally, the "one" side for each die reads "Laughlin, Nevada".
With only a touch of surface wear, these vintage dice are in great condition. Make them your new lucky charm!
Each face is ¾" long, 9.3 grams (each)
