Since its founding in 1876, Whiting & Davis has continued to manufacture jewelry and accessories of the utmost quality and highest standard of design.
This gorgeous gold-toned earring and bracelet set dates from around the 1910s-1920s and is an excellent example of the mesh-bracelet style.
After all, who does mesh better than Whiting & Davis?
Interestingly, the bracelet does not slide, but actually fits much more precisely.
The large component at the center lifts open on a hinge to reveal a clever hook and loop arrangement with four sizing choices
The end of the mesh bracelet is then fitted to the wearer's desired length and the large rectangular component is snapped back into place.
When the piece is opened, you can see the a hallmark reading "Whiting & Davis, Mesh Bags" in a bow-tie shape. This mark was used as early as 1915.
This centerpiece component is adorned with an applied swirling design and an enormous amber-colored emerald-cut rhinestone at in the center.
Our favorite part is the row of snake chains that create a gorgeous fringe-like effect.
Each earring echoes the motif of the bracelet perfectly with a single enormous emerald-cut rhinestone in glistening amber-orange.
They feature classic hinge-clips that make them wonderfully comfortable and secure to wear.
Each clip is stamped with a mark reading "Whiting and Davis Co."
Excluding a tiny bit of wear this stylish set remains in fantastic vintage condition.
