This brooch was originally purchased in Chicago in 1936. According to Eisenberg Company (we have written document), the mark of the circle 20 on the piece is rare. It shows a particular designer and was retired in 1938.
Several years ago, one of the largest collections of Eisenberg jewelry was put up for auction by the Sotheby's Chicago gallery and this extraordinary fur clip is reported to have been a part of that auction according to the Eisenberg Company
It is just that beautiful.
This gorgeous vintage fur clip is an Eisenberg Original; its design represents the opulence and allure that characterized the company's style from the mid 1930s to the 1940s.
The Eisenberg Company started making quality clothing in the 1940's and followed with design and manufacture of sensational costume jewelry.
The Eisenberg name would soon become synonymous with glamour, exemplifying elegance with their high quality materials and sophisticated designs.
The clip features an array of enormous clear rhinestones, all of which are original and intact.
It is opulent and elegant and certainly would have belonged to someone of means and discriminating taste.
The silvertone metals are slightly worn, though this is commensurate with the age of the clip.
There are a number of maker's marks on the reverse, the first of which reads "Eisenberg Original" which is in the era appropriate dot matrix script.
The other mark is a "20" inside a small circle; this identified the craftsman who actually casted the brooch.
Despite some wear, this exquisite fur clip is in great vintage condition. It is a beautiful design and the pictures do not do it justice.
This is a definite occasion piece and will certainly get lots of attention.
Eisenberg Original pieces are highly collectible and relatively difficult to find.
We consider them investment pieces since the value will continue to increase over time.
