Hattie Carnegie was a fashion entrepreneur based in New York City from the 1920s to the 1960s.
Her company was a pioneer of the ready-to-wear lines for the high-end market.
So iconically Hattie and so beautiful, she has fashioned these in the style of both Victorian jewelry and flapper era designs.
These earrings are as elegant, sexy and unique as they get and, best of all, they are signed vintage Hattie Carnegie.
These are special earrings because they are signed "Carnegie" which is correct, but a rare maker's mark.
Her other pieces are marked Hattie Carnegie, and sometimes an HC inside of a diamond shape and in an oval.
Measuring an opulent 7" long, these chandelier, shoulder dusting earrings start with a gold-tone brass clip.
The reverse of the clip exhibits the classic hallmark which reads "Carnegie" in elegant script.
The bronze colored coiling ropes that make up the fringe of these earrings is real fabric.
It shines with the same luxurious twinkle of metal but allows the earrings to move and breathe with airy lightness.
The amber glass balls at the top of the earrings and the tear-drops at the bottom are encased in a wide net of the same bronze fabric.
On both sides of the fabric fringe is a single strand of silvertone beads studded with larger amber glass beads.
They exhibit some minor wear but overall these earrings are in great shape.
The fringe rope fabric has really withstood the test of time and these beauties look absolutely fabulous.
