This beautiful antique dish is made of brilliant sterling silver and features extraordinary stamped embellishment.
The dish was manufactured by the Frank M. Whiting & Company which was founded in 1878. This piece dates from not long thereafter.
As you can see, the little dish features a smooth interior while the edges boast a sensationally elegant stamped floral design.
You will find several marks stamped into the underside of the dish, the first of which reads "Sterling by Frank M. Whiting & Company".
This is followed by the company's traditional "Winged `W'" mark and a style number, "1226". The "1" is worn, but looking closely, you can see it.
Though the mark is slightly worn it is still legible.
The dish exhibits some minor patination around the edges and a few light surface scratches here and there.
Overall, it remains in very good antique condition.
We have not polished the dish but leave that to the preference of the buyer. We know it will shine beautifully!
