Hattie Carnegie was a fashion entrepreneur based in New York City from the 1920s to the 1960s. Born in Vienna, Austria she was the second oldest of seven children. Her company was a pioneer of the ready-to-wear lines for the high-end market.
She introduced the "head-to-hem" boutique concept that paved the way for the future success of many other designers in America. Hattie's colorful clothing and ultra-chic costume jewelry, even today, are greatly sought after by fashion and jewelry collectors.
We are thrilled to present this gorgeous vintage brooch from the always stylish Hattie Carnegie. It features an ENORMOUS piece of flawless mother of pearl in a silver colored frame.
Four rows of prong-set clear rhinestones lie languidly over the top and end in teardrop shaped flat pieces of nacre (these are also beautifully prong set).
On the reverse of one these pieces you can see that the Hattie Carnegie name has been clearly stamped, assuring you of the brooch's authenticity.
This beauty is still in fantastic condition and ready to be your new favorite spring accessory.
It has a really unique style that is classic, timeless and very elegant. It is so versatile, it will wear well for both dressy and casual occasions.
