We're thrilled to present this extraordinary antique ring dating from the Victorian era. An impressive piece of jet is bezel set at the center and surrounded by elegant 10 karat yellow gold leaves and four rose gold medallions.
Both leaves embrace the jet on the left and right sides; both are rendered in remarkable, minuscule detail.
During part of the Victorian period from about 1860 to 1890, jet jewelry was the height of fashion and black was a stylish color, and not just used in mourning jewelry.
Four small rose gold medallions at the top, bottom, left and right abut the jet stone directly and have a delicate mille grained finish around the edges.
There is a hallmark on the interior of the band which reads "10K", for the gold purity.
This is such a beautiful ring that looks fabulous on the finger. It certainly is a jewelry wardrobe staple.
Though it exhibits expected antique surface wear and some minor darkening, the ring is still in fantastic condition.
