This ring is the most amazing opal ring. It is absolutely full of fire and the fire is impossible to photograph.
The opals are brilliant and sparkling in ocean blues and deep blue greens with all the soft pastels that high quality opals exhibit.
The entire central piece is arranged in a marquise pattern and each opal is is in the shape of a circular cabochon and frame a central array of three gorgeous rose-cut or old mine cut diamonds.
The opals are so bright, you tend to stare at the ring.
The pics show it very washed out, but we guarantee there is an impressive fire in the opals. The classic blues, soft greens, roses, oranges, and iridescence of quality opals are obvious.
There are two clearly discernible hallmarks on the interior of the ring; it is commensurate with the age of the piece that some of the marks would be worn away.
These are, firstly, a crown (indicating the British make of the piece). There is an "18" for the gold purity.
The upper shanks consist of intricately carved delicate scroll work.
The gold exhibits some expected surface wear; however, we are pleased to say that the ring is in overall very good condition.
This is a sweet, feminine ring and looks very pretty on the finger.
It is beautiful and a perfect example of the 1800s aesthetic. Its quality is without question.
Whomever owned this beauty certainly would have worn it with pride.
You will not be disappointed with this ring. It is lovely.
