This is an extraordinary antique ring. From the Victorian era, the ring is unique in design.
A single solitaire diamond sits on a pedestal of ornately repousséd gold which in turn sits on a layer of alternating gold and platinum. Each gold portion of this lower tier features delicate stippling, giving it a beautiful texture.
The craftsmanship and detail of the ring and delicate embellishments are really impressive. Beautiful small golden tear drop shapes adorn the upper shanks while the band remains smooth.
There is a single hallmark on the interior of the band which reads "VA18" in an impressed shield shape. Though there are a few expected flea-bite scratches on the gold, the ring and diamond are in excellent overall condition.
The diamond looks to be about a 1/4ct and is brilliant and sparkling.
