This extraordinary antique ring exudes old-world beauty and craftsmanship. A brilliant deep blue, oval-cut sapphire sits at the center of the face and is surrounded by 8 minuscule rose cut diamonds.
The sapphire is in excellent condition. Several of the rose cut diamonds have some material cracking, though this can only be seen with a jeweler's loupe and does not detract from the immediate beauty of the ring.
The band is cast in exquisite yellow gold; a hallmark on the interior that reads 18K.
We acid tested this in our shop and it tests positive for "at least" 18K gold just as a quality control measure.
Delicate scrolls adorn each upper shoulder while the rest of the band has a classic solid finish.
There is expected antique surface wear on the gold, but we do not polish our vintage and antique items.
The sapphire is the most amazing blue and the setting with the stones make this a very pretty and feminine ring.
It looks amazing on the finger. Sapphire is the birthstone for September babies.
The sapphire was called the "Stone of Destiny". It is believed that sapphires contribute to mental clarity and perception and can promote financial rewards.
Also, the tradition also follows that the sapphire is the symbol of heaven and joyful devotion to God.
Whatever your beliefs, this is one gorgeous ring that will be a wonderful addition to any jewelry wardrobe.
