This extraordinary antique ring speaks of elegance, featuring a small diamond and two exquisite sapphires.
The setting is frequently referred to as a gypsy or "star" setting; it is typically characterized by stones being flush with their surrounding metal.
Exceptionally fine detailing is on the face and upper shanks of the ring and acts as a beautiful complement embellishment to the lovely stones. The pictures show the sapphires darker than they are. They are a rich, deep royal blue and very brilliant.
The ring is 18 karat gold. The hallmarks are a crown for England, the 18K gold purity stamp and the anchor for the Birmingham assay office.
A lower-case "f" in a flattened edge square can be seen, but we can not find the corresponding date. We estimate this to be circa 1900s.
The ring is in excellent condition, exhibiting only a few minor flea-bite scratches
Treat yourself to this great ring for a wonderful addition to your antique jewelry wardrobe.
