This darling antique perfume bottle is a shining example of meticulous craftsmanship and old-world elegance.
It has beautiful color and enameling and a wonderful whimsical shape.
Originally intended for a lady's chatelaine, it features a beautiful brass chain emanating from each side of the hinged brass cap. her favorite scent.
Crafted in such a way that it will not stand on its own; the bottle could just have easily laid gracefully upon the lady of the house's dressing table.
This exquisite antique bottle takes the shape of a dainty, green pea pod.
The translucent green body and "pod" have been embellished with gold gilding and, red, white, blue, and mint-green enamel.
A hinged brass cap is affixed to the top of the bottle, the top of which is adorned with a stamped geometric floral pattern, though it exhibits the most minor dent.
Upon opening the brass lid, you can see that the original green glass stopper remains intact and nestled within the bottle.
A chain is attached to each side of the brass lid collar and is held with a large detached brass ring (where the wearer would have attached the bottle to their chatelaine).
Though there is some minor enamel loss to the exterior of the glass and some wear is present on the brass lid, the bottle is in remarkable antique condition, boasting a singular design and unique and whimsical beauty.
This is such a cool perfume bottle, we were thrilled to find it.
